PSD Inventory System

About the PSD Inventory System: Asset Panda

An asset inventory system is essential to managing computing assets in any organization. Devices can be tracked through their entire lifecycle at the organization from purchase and deployment until its eventual decommissioning. Some of the benefits are:

  • Tracking device ages for replacement budgeting
  • Knowing the location of devices during a security event
  • Ensuring university assets are returned by a departing employee
  • Tracking key pieces of device information that is needed when a device is lost or stolen

PSD Computing and IT utilizes the cloud-based inventory system Asset Panda to track assets in the division. Asset Panda is a cost-effective service that is highly configurable to our division needs and procedures.

You may request an export of your assets at any time by emailing psdsupport@uchicago.edu

For groups with many assets, you may also request view or view/edit rights to your devices within the Asset Panda system. To request Asset Panda access, please email psdsupport@uchicago.edu
