Connecting your email client

Guides
When setting up your clients, you will be prompted for an email address. Always enter your_cnet@uchicago.edu. Entering in aliases like your_cnet@statistics.uchicago.edu or your_cnet@oddjob.uchicago.edu will not work.
- Outlook for Mac & Mac Mail
- Outlook for Windows
- Outlook for iOS and Android
- Third-Party Email Application (IMAP/POP)
- Modify Your Default Email Address
- Alpine – Please note that this is not a supported mail client. We are providing this Purdue article as a potential solution. You will need to substitute instances of purdue.edu with uchicago.edu. You may also want to add or update the following lines in your ~/.pinerc file to ensure folders work:
- folder-collections=Office365 {outlook.office365.com/ssl/user=your_cnetid@uchicago.edu/auth=xoauth2}[]
- postponed-folder={outlook.office365.com/ssl/user=your_cnetid@uchicago.edu/auth=xoauth2}Drafts
- trash-folder={outlook.office365.com/ssl/user= your_cnetid@ uchicago.edu/auth=xoauth2}Deleted Items
If you would like assistance connecting to your mail, please email psdsupport@uchicago.edu
UChicago GSuite
All modern mail clients have a Google or Gmail option when adding a new account. Please select this account type and, when prompted, enter in cnet@uchicago.edu for your email address. The next step should be the familiar CNET authentication page and Duo prompt. After completing these two prompts, follow any remaining setup steps. Your UChicago GSuite mailbox should be connected.
